Timber

All H J Berry chairs and tables are made from wood.  Wood is not only a very beautiful natural product it is also hard wearing and long lasting.

Whilst it might seem tragic to fell trees, if the woodland from which the trees are sourced is carefully managed to FSC standards, the production of wood is a sustainable process. 

The Situation Today

All the wood we use comes only from sustainable sources.  95% of our wood is sourced from within the UK with the remaining 5% coming from managed forests in Western Europe.  All our wood sources are FSC certified or equivalent.

Ongoing Projects

We do not believe in transporting our raw materials over long distances and we are therefore working closely with the Lancashire Woodlands Project to find suppliers as locally as possible. 

Our Aim

Our ultimate goal is to source 100% of our wood from local, British, managed forests.
