At H J Berry we believe that protecting our environment for current and future generations is of paramount importance.

Our goal is to become an ecologically sustainable, environmentally beneficial and non-polluting company. This goal is at the heart of everything we do.

We have made some significant steps towards our goal and you can read about our progress in areas such as timber use, production, fuel & waste and our locality in the pages within this section of the website. But we are not complacent. Whilst we have made big strides, we have some way to go.

In order that we do not lose sight of our ultimate aim, we have formed the SWAT – the Sustainable Work Action Team. The SWAT comprises people from all areas of the business and meets monthly to review progress and put in place new initiatives.

Our commitment to the environment has lead to our corporate membership of a range of conservation organisations and to us working closely with the Lancashire Woodlands Project to produce a range of dining tables and chairs made entirely from local timber from sustainable woodland sources.
